Little Workhorse for Me,July 21, 2009

"I purchased this lightweight yellow canister vac on sale ($29.99)at the beginning of 2007 when I moved from a carpeted house to one with hardwood and vinyl floors. I use it daily for approx 1200 sq ft of floor space that is occupied by me, two teenagers, and many pets, including a giant breed dog that leaves dog hair dunes in her wake.
For me, this vacuum has been a little workhorse. The suction is strong enough to pick up all the pet hair and dirt everyone tracks in. I can put the Tiger Paw attachment on and clean pet hair off of the sofa and recliner. I am rough on my vacs and I didn't expect its plastic construction or motor to last, but I have been pleasantly surprised. The machine is not heavy and follows along easily; it continues to clean even if knocked on its side or upside down.
Personally I prefer the bagless construction as it saves me money. Because of the volume of hair I vacuum every day, I clean the canister out after every use, which might be an inconvenience for those who would rather not spend time doing that kind of chore.
I can only recommend this machine for non-carpeted floors as I have had no experience with it on carpeting."

"The price in NJ is 59.99 but every other week it is on sale fo r$49.99 so well worth the wate. Great vacume for every day use on floors and area rungs, and furniture. Picks up kids spilled cheerios in a flash. About the same wait as a battery opperated unit with larger capacity and much better sucking power. The unit has not changed in years. Most electronics change every 4 months so this is bonus when a part breaks. The filter lasts a long time and can be hit on ground outside once a week to clean to improve sucking power. The only downside is the vacume gets hot after about 20 minutes of use and is loud. I put toilet paper in my ears so noise not an issue any more. I recomend vacume to friends all the time."

"This is the worst Vaccuum I have every used and I have used my fair share. The wand will not work on carpet at all! The only way to vaccuum with this is to go around with the tube little by little sitting on the floor while vaccuming and you have to stop every five minutes to clean out the "bagless" thing. I am very, Very disappointed in this kenmore product."

"I purchased this 2 days ago, and I will be returning it today. It works great on open bare floors, but the wand is so clunky and hard to maneuver under cabinets and small spaces. The hose is not flexible and requires alot of pulling and twisting in order to clean anything. On carpet- well you might as well forget it. It does not work at all on carpet or couches. I have a microfiber couch and it almost twisted the fabric off. Do not buy this!"

"I was thrilled to get this for the price ($40) and try it. It works in my kitchen and living room great but not any where w/ carpet. It fills to quickly, and since I bought it for the carpet on my stairs I'm dissappointed. Not what I expected from a kenmore product."

"After reading all of the negative reviews on this vacuum, I was very skeptical about purchasing one. My wife finally convinced me to go and buy one. We wanted something to clean our bare floors in our home since our upright vacuum doesn't do the trick. This vacuum worked very well on the hard floors. I could see that it would not work well on carpet since there is no roll brush on it. I was suprised at the suction the vacuum had. It is hands down a better vacuum for bare floors than the Dirt Devil BroomVac we were using before. For $40, it is a must have."

"First it was only $49.99, which should have told us it wasn't very good for the money. You get what you pay for! First, after only 30 seconds of use the fine mesh filter became plugged and needed to be cleaned inorder to maintain the full suction. The filter had to be cleaned every 5 minutes there after. Second the bag full indicator begin to chatter when the mesh filter became restricted. On carpets the bag indicator always shows full even after adjusting the air flow valve. Third the attachments are way too small for a vacuum cleaner not to mention that everything is very cheap plastic. Needless to say this vacuum is on it's way back to K-Mart for a differnt brand. Shame on you Kenmore!"

"I got this on sale and am very happy with it, I have area rugs and hardwood floors and cats, It passed the test..it picked up the scattered litter plus does the throw rugs(adjustable brush) and vacuums the hardwood so it served it's purpose very well. I'm not as particular about the little attachments and agree they don't stay put on their ports very well. For the money it was better than I expected, and agree for plush carpet you need something a little more powerful, this is lightweight with the telescopic wand(hose) so it fits the bill for floors and area rugs"

"I bought this product for my carpeted room, but found it more useful on my kitchen and hardwood floors. I have 2 dogs so I can understand why it would be harder to pick up on carpeting; however, this product worked great for sucking up the dog hair in all the corners, basement stairs, bathrooms and all the hardwood floors."

"At first I adored this vacuum because of its rolling abilities, attachments, and light weight. It has an easy to remove and clean filter, and the filter even comes with a tiny brush to deep clean the lint. But, after weeks of simply trying to vacuum basic floor rugs and in the crevices of my couch and what not, I am concerned at how little it actually sucks up. It leaves all kinds of dirt behind and you have to vacuum the same area 5-7 times to get almost everything. It was affordable and easy to carry home, but if you have substantial vacuuming to do or clean often, this is not your best bet."

"I have used this on all bare floors and the suction is unreal. It's light weight, easy to tote and operate. I use it to clean houses and on my own at the end of the day,I'd definitley recommend this to all my friends. "I recently purchased this product to clean hard floor surfaces in my home. I have ceramic tile and hardwood throughout my house. I wanted a small lightweight vac to pick up dirt and dust bunnies on these flat surfaces. This product has great suction and is bagless. The cord is retractable which makes pulling it out and putting it away very easy. The price for this vac is excellent; I paid $40.00 on sale. It is a very good product for the price and the cleaning ability."

"I bought this vacuum and it does work well for bare floors, I haven't really like it on my plush carpet at all but since I can remove and use just the hose, it does work for corners and areas such as that.
If you have thick or plush carpet, I wouldn't recommend it to you to use but if you are wanting to use on floors, it is a very good vacuum."
